JOB DESCRIPTION
A lovely family based in Clonmel, County Tipperary are seeking an experienced, reliable and highly capable Part-Time Housekeeper to join their household on a long-term basis.
This is a housekeeping-only position with no childcare responsibilities. The family are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, high standards and a proactive approach who takes pride in maintaining a beautifully organised and well-presented home. Start October 2026
Hours & Schedule
- 20–25 guaranteed hours per week
- A three days on / three days off rota, shared with another housekeeper
- Every second Saturday will be required as part of the rota
- The schedule will provide a consistent pattern of work and will be shared between two housekeepers
Housekeeping Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running and upkeep of the home, including:
- Thorough cleaning and maintaining all areas of the house to a very high standard
- Daily tidying and resetting of the household
- Making beds and maintaining bedrooms
- Cleaning and maintaining bathrooms
- Dusting, vacuuming and general floor care
- Keeping kitchens, living areas and dining areas clean, tidy and organised
- Laundry, ironing and clothing care
- Changing bed linen and maintaining household linen
- Organising cupboards, wardrobes and household areas
- Ensuring the home is consistently presented to an excellent standard
- Assisting with grocery shopping and household errands when required
- Preparing and organising the family’s pre-prepared meals as required
The Family
The children are older and are currently in college/university, so there are no childcare responsibilities associated with this role. They are generally at home at weekends.
The family have no pets.
This is a warm and welcoming household looking for someone who will become a trusted and valued member of the household team and stay with them long term.

The ideal candidate will be:
- Experienced in private-household housekeeping
- Extremely thorough, organised and detail-oriented
- Discreet, trustworthy and reliable
- Able to work independently and manage their time effectively
- Comfortable working to exceptionally high standards
- Professional, friendly and easy-going
- Flexible and willing to work as part of a shared rota
- Looking for a long-term position
A full driving licence and confident driving ability would be advantageous for household errands.
The family’s current housekeeper highly recommends the position, which reflects the positive nature of the role and the family.
