Full Time Housekeeper / Nanny, Ballsbridge

A family is looking for a live-out Housekeeper / Nanny in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. The family would like someone who can manage their busy household, has excellent attention to detail and extremely high standards, and will ensure everything runs smoothly. General duties include making beds and organising bedrooms, cleaning bathrooms, hoovering, dusting and keeping the living room, dining room and kitchen area clean and tidy.

The hours are 40 guaranteed per week and will be arranged flexibly around the family’s changing schedule. Days may be split between mornings and evenings, and regular evening work, overnights and occasional weekends will be required. Due to the nature of the client’s work, reasonable short-notice changes arise regularly. This is a friendly family who are looking for someone to fit in, feel comfortable and stay with them long term. The family are looking for someone who is upbeat, positive and can manage their time effectively. Start date ASAP.

Housekeeping duties:

• Deep cleaning and preparation of bedrooms, bathrooms and main areas, together with a daily hotel-style household reset and bed linen changed twice weekly
• Laundry management, including drop-off and collection from a professional laundry service, and wardrobe organisation
• Preparing healthy and nutritious basic to mid-level meals for the child
• Grocery shopping, keeping an inventory of the pantry/fridge/freezer and running small errands

Fluent English is essential. A full clean driving licence and confident driving ability are essential; own car strongly preferred, although a family car may be provided depending on circumstances.

Nanny Duties:

The candidate will be required to drive the family’s six-year-old child (turning seven in October) to and from school and after-school activities.

The family are looking for a warm, positive and happy child-friendly candidate who is genuinely happy to interact and play with their child, and who is calm, exceptionally patient and emotionally steady.

The child is autistic. Previous meaningful experience with autism or neurodiverse children, together with a genuine willingness to learn and support the child as an individual, is essential. A background in speech and language therapy, musical theatre, drama, singing or creative expression would be particularly welcomed, but is not essential.

The child has recently graduated from the school’s autism classroom into its mainstream classroom. The successful candidate should be enthusiastic about supporting the child’s continuing educational and developmental journey, maintaining positive communication with school staff and accurately relaying important information between the school and the family. Further details about the child’s individual needs will be discussed privately with suitable candidates.

International travel is essential. Regular evening babysitting and overnights will be required, normally approximately one overnight per week, with additional overnights possible during particularly busy periods.

The Candidate must be happy to travel internationally with the family, sometimes with limited notice. Accommodation, flights and reasonable work-related travel expenses will be provided. The Candidate must hold a valid passport or be willing to obtain one promptly and keep all travel documents up to date.

The ideal Candidate must be organised, independent, reliable, discreet, calm, patient, fun and energetic. The Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience, excellent references, up-to-date First Aid and Garda Vetting.
