Full-Time Nanny, Naas, Kildare

Sole Charge | Long-Term Role | Warm Family A warm and welcoming family based in Naas, Co. Kildare is seeking a highly experienced, professional nanny to join their household in a long-term, sole-charge position caring for three children aged 11, 10, and 5 years. This position is Monday, Tuesday Thursday Friday and Saturday 40 hours a week

One of the children, aged 10, has Pitt-Hopkins syndrome and is non-verbal, requiring dedicated one-to-one support. The family are seeking someone with genuine experience in special needs care, alongside a relevant childcare qualification.

About the Role

This is a fully sole-charge position requiring a capable, organised, and engaging nanny who can confidently manage the children’s daily routines while creating a stimulating and happy home environment.

You will be responsible for:

• School drop-offs, collections, and transport to extracurricular activities
• Providing attentive, safe, and nurturing sole-charge care
• Supporting homework and reinforcing learning in a structured way
• Planning and leading engaging developmental activities (arts & crafts, baking, reading, outdoor play, library visits, playdates, nature walks, etc.)
• Preparing healthy, balanced meals and nutritious snacks
• Maintaining order and cleanliness in children’s bedrooms and shared family spaces
• Children’s laundry, ironing, and light household duties relating to the children
• Running occasional errands as required
• Babysitting and occasional overnight care (as agreed in advance)
• Flexibility to support the family during holidays, school breaks, and unforeseen circumstances

This is a role where initiative, creativity, and organisation are highly valued, particularly in planning enriching weekly activities for the children.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ professional nanny or childcare experience
• Relevant qualification: QQI/FETAC Level 5 or 6 in Childcare or SNA qualification (essential)
• Strong experience or proven confidence working with children with additional needs (essential)
• Experience with non-verbal communication or SEN support is a distinct advantage
• Up to date First Aid certification
• Garda Vetting (or willingness to complete)
• Full clean driver’s licence and own reliable car (essential)
• Fluent English, both written and spoken
