JOB DESCRIPTION
A full-time nanny is required for a sole-charge position based in Kerry Pike, Cork , caring for a four-month-old baby. The role is Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with both parents working full time, so flexibility and reliability are essential. The position is available to start in January 2027.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience caring for newborns and young babies, with a strong understanding of infant development during the first year of life. They should be confident in establishing and following age-appropriate routines, including feeding, sleeping, weaning, and developmental milestones.
Knowledge and practical experience in introducing solids, including baby-led weaning and preparing nutritious, age-appropriate meals, would be highly desirable.
Experience travelling with families or supporting families during holidays and trips would also be an advantage, as occasional travel may be required.
Daily responsibilities include all aspects of childcare, such as feeding, changing, settling for naps, supporting developmental progress, and creating a nurturing and stimulating environment. The nanny will plan engaging age-appropriate activities, including sensory play, tummy time, reading, music, outdoor walks, and attendance at local baby groups. Nursery duties will include the child’s laundry, keeping the nursery organised, sterilising bottles and feeding equipment, and maintaining tidy child-related areas within the home.
The family home is located in Kerry Pike, Cork, about 6km outside the city. Unfortunately no public transport around. There is a lovely community, garden centre and café with a little walking track.
Driver is essential with own car.
The successful candidate will be warm, caring, proactive, and organised, with the confidence to work independently and take initiative. A minimum of two years’ professional childcare experience, ideally including newborn care, is required, along with excellent references, an up-to-date First Aid qualification, and Garda Vetting. The family is seeking a nanny who can become a trusted and valued part of their child’s early years, providing loving, attentive, and professional care.
